Master Chef

Our family cooking group in Bramley St Peters school enjoyed a special day this week as professional chef and Education student Harry made a guest appearance. Harry has volunteered with Flourishing Families before as an activities-based mentor and is always a popular addition to any club or session we have run. The boys in the group love having him around and he is a fantastic role model in many ways.

The session started with some valuable lessons in how to cut vegetables like a professional chef, and finished with a practical demonstration on how to mix and cook scotch pancakes- a highly prized life skill! And with the long summer holidays almost upon us, there will hopefully be some opportunities to put these new skills into practice.

This sums up for us why we do what we do. Everyone deserves to know that they matter, whatever their circumstances and challenges.
